Nagarro is driving Work From Anywhere by increasing local access to engineers across
Dehradun, Uttarakhand, September 28, 2021: Nagarro SE, a global leader in digital engineering and technology solutions, is expanding its presence in India with the opening of its office in Dehradun. The new center is situated at Pannal – Chrysler Tech Centre, Govind Vihar, Dehradun, which is easily accessible via public transport. As offices are opening post the pandemic, Nagarro is taking a step forward by expanding local presence across cities in India so that engineers can comfortably work from their hometowns. Dehradun becomes the fourth Indian city as part of ‘Nagarro’s plans to tap into ‘India’s rich talent pool across these cities and provide employment by harnessing the potential of qualified engineers across the country. The other three centers are across Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Indore. These new locations will add to ‘Nagarro’s focus of addressing growing business opportunities across the country and globally.
Commenting on the occasion Dr. Manas Fuloria, Co-Founder and CEO said, “Nagarro is very proud and excited to begin our journey in Dehradun. Dehradun has tremendous potential as an IT hub. Being an IT hub is all about providing a great quality of life to attract IT engineers. In the 1990s, Bangalore was a small town with excellent weather and a modern, cosmopolitan way of life. It was safe for women. When Indian IT boomed, every IT boy and girl wanted to settle in Bangalore. But Bangalore has lost that appeal today. It has been overcome by car traffic. Today Dehradun has everything Bangalore had, plus it has wonderful adventure opportunities in the Himalayas. We also have here the opportunity to avoid the mistakes Bangalore made.”
Dehradun was included in the central government’s smart city list in June 2017, and plans to transform the Uttarakhand capital were rolled out by the government. The city’s inclusion in the Smart City project announced by the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has provided a fillip to the region in terms of tourism and new avenues of development. With this focus, as urban development takes place, the city is emerging as an opportunity for future projects and generating employment for the youth. Taking a cue emphasizing the Government’s vision, Nagarro is investing in creating local capabilities across key cities where employees will not need to travel away from home. The pandemic has resulted in many engineers working from their hometowns. Nagarro has been a front runner in working from anywhere as the company’s core ethos lies in “making distance irrelevant between intelligent people.”
Apart from being an education hub, Uttarakhand is home to over 60 startups registered under the Government’s Startup India initiative. Entrepreneurship and starting up is no longer only a big city characteristic. The pandemic showed that the dynamics quickly changed from before when small towns had been a bad choice to do business. The earlier conventional situation observed was that people migrated from smaller towns and cities for better work and career opportunities. However, with the pandemic, work-life issues, and the imbalance of living between chaos, traffic, and pollution have created enough stress. The lessons from the pandemic have shown that work from home and anywhere is possible. Nagarro remains dedicated to giving a choice to all Nagarrians, allowing them to work from wherever they want.
With the Government’s focus on developing Dehradun as a smart city, the time is right to harness the local advantage of manpower and development. “Let’s see if we can make Dehradun a major IT hub, but do it in a sustainable, environment-friendly way, promoting greenery, safe walking, safe cycling and public transport instead of cutting trees, widening roads and inviting more cars and traffic jams. If we can safeguard the ecological aspect, there is nothing to stop Dehradun from leading the country in IT growth”, Dr. Fuloria further added.
Nagarro is focusing on developing products and solutions that promise to change the customers’ business positively. Through an agile, entrepreneurial, and global task force working from across the world, the employees address mission-critical operations through engineering the DNA of solutions at large.
