Bengaluru, April 14: The controversy of azan through loudspeaker has travelled from Maharashtra to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Where right-wing groups have installed loudspeakers at top of their home to chant mantras and bhajans five times a day during azan.
Shri Kashi Vishwanath Gyanvapi Movement’s President and BJP member Sudhir Singh urged Hindus to recite bhajans and mantras on Thursday. He also claimed that reciting mantras and bhajans is a part of Hindu tradition and said it was stopped during the non-BJP government years. He asked Hindus to install a loudspeaker and to recite bhajans and mantras through it.
Singh asked the president of the Rashtriya Hindu dal that if azan could be recited through loudspeakers then why we can’t recite bhajans?
MNS chief Raj Thackrey has warned the Maharashtra government to shut down loudspeakers in mosques till May 3rd, or else Hanuman Chalisa will be played outside every mosque on a loudspeaker.
