Hyderabad, September 29, 2022: Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death for both men and women in India. However, heart disease can also be prevented before it requires breakthrough treatment, through healthy habits that help you with controllable risk factors like maintaining a healthy weight, engaging in physical activity and following a heart-healthy diet. Small changes can make a big difference, which is why awareness is so crucial. Therefore, Gleneagles Global Hospital Hyderabad tied up with traffic police to raise awareness on heart health.
Today, Additional ACP P Murali Krishna kickstarted the awareness drive at the hospital premises. Six inflatables were seen at Assembly signal, Khairatabad signal, Punjagutta signal, Masab Tank signal, Secretariat signal and Greenlands signal (Begumpet) to display the importance of taking care of one’s heart and getting oneself checked on a regular basis.
ACP P Murali Krishna said “our traffic police tirelessly work for long hours day in and day out, unable to give the necessary attention to their health and lifestyle. We hope through this initiative, our police force takes the effort towards improving their heart health and commit to regular check-ups.”
Dr.Riyaz Khan, CEO Gleneagles Global Hospital, Hyderabad, added “There is never enough awareness, we continue to lose people to heart disease every day. Our hospital is committed towards raising awareness of heart healthy practices to benefit our local community. We hope through these initiatives we can encourage citizens to do regular cardio check ups so that they can assess their risk, change their diet and increase activity level.”
