26th Dec 22, Bengaluru: The trophy of the 2023 Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup tournament arrived at Bangalore and displayed in a grand show at the JAIN College, VV Puram. The trophy tour was flagged off by Odisha CM Mr. Naveen Patnaik with an intention to create a buzz around the tournament across India. The tournament, scheduled between 13th to 29th January 2023, will be hosted by Odisha state and 16 teams will play matches in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
Approximately 1200 students from JAIN College and guests from around the city gathered together to get a glimpse of the prestigious trophy. Olympians V. R. Raghunath, S.K. Uthappa, Sheshe Gowda, along with Dr. A.B. Subbaiah, an Arjuna Awardee and Secretary General – Hockey Karnataka, were present at the event. In addition to other renowned personalities from Hockey Karnataka and the Indian, Dr UV Sankar,Sports Director ofJAIN University and authorities from Hockey Federation attended the event. The federation took the stage to invite everyone to attend the tournament and make it a huge success.

India is showing magnificent performances at the Hockey tournaments across the globe. We are eagerly waiting for the exquisite performances in the World Cup tournaments and wish the Indian team all the best for their matches ahead.”
During the official tour the trophy is planned to visit 13 states and a UT and will reach Bhubaneswar by 25th Jan 2022.
