Rotary Bangalore Midtown Facilitates Life-Saving Heart Surgeries for Five Ethiopian Children at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology with the Support of Rtn Bimal Desa
In a heart-warming collaboration, Rotary Bangalore Midtown has joined forces with the esteemed Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology and the dedicated support of Rotary Bangalore Midtown member Rtn Bimal Desai to facilitate life-changing heart surgeries for five children from Ethiopia.
Rtn Bimal Desai completely funded this project by recognizing the pressing need for intervention in the lives of children with congenital heart conditions.
The collaboration began last year when Rotary Bangalore Midtown identified a group of ten children from Ethiopia with complex heart conditions that required specialized care and helped them to undergo heart surgery at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology with the support of Rtn Bimal Desai. Ethiopia, like many developing countries, faces challenges in providing advanced medical treatments for certain health conditions, particularly those related to congenital heart issues.
To address this gap, Rotary Bangalore Midtown once again with the support of Rtn Bimal Desai reached out to Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, a renowned medical institution with a track record of excellence in cardiac care for the heart surgeries of five children. Recognizing the urgency of the situation and the potential for transformative impact, the institute readily agreed to collaborate on the initiative, offering its expertise, facilities, and medical staff to perform the necessary surgeries.
The funds donated by Rtn Bimal Desai were crucial in covering the medical expenses, travel arrangements, and post-operative care for the children.
