MYSORE, Karnataka — Simran Shankar, a Pre-University student from Mysore, recently embarked on a journey that demonstrates coding is accessible to anyone, regardless of background. With a PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology) background, Simran initially found herself at a crossroads, unsure about diving into computer science. Encouraged by her parents, she hesitantly considered the shift, despite her lack of coding experience.
“I was surrounded by peers who seemed to effortlessly understand coding, and I felt lost,” Simran recalled, describing her initial self-doubt and uncertainty.

Simran’s dedication and hard work soon paid off. During an internship interview with Altair Engineering, her in-depth knowledge and experience gained through the upGrad course impressed the interviewers, leading to a job offer. This achievement showcased the power of perseverance and a willingness to embrace new challenges.
