Bengaluru, India – Samsung, India’s leading consumer electronics brand, is expanding its “Galaxy empowered” program to Mumbai. This unique community-led initiative aims to revolutionize classrooms by providing teachers, principals, and school administrators with the latest digital tools and teaching methods.
Following a successful launch in New Delhi, where the program reached over 250 schools and certified more than 2,700 educators, Samsung is now bringing its expertise to Mumbai—India’s financial and educational hub. The goal is to make a lasting impact on the nation’s learning landscape.
The Mumbai launch event brought together over 350 educators and school leaders from across Maharashtra and neighboring states. This strong turnout highlights the high demand for professional development among India’s teaching community.
Speaking at the event, Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, MX Business, Samsung India, stated, “Mumbai embodies the innovative spirit of Indian education. Through Galaxy empowered, we’re giving educators the tools they need to engage students, spark curiosity, and create meaningful change in classrooms nationwide. Our vision is to empower 20,000 teachers by 2025, and this is a crucial step in that journey.”
The Core of the Program: Empowering Educators
The Galaxy empowered program is designed around three main pillars:
AI and Technology Upskilling: Teachers receive hands-on training through online modules, immersive bootcamps, and workshops focused on digital teaching tools, classroom apps, and virtual learning environments.
Experiential Learning & Certification: The program offers in-person workshops, mentorship, and certification support to help educators with lesson design, teaching innovation, and their own well-being.
Peer Networking & Community Building: Participants join a nationwide network of peers, thought leaders, and Samsung mentors, allowing them to share ideas and foster long-term professional growth.
Aditya Babbar, Vice President, MX Business, Samsung India, added, “This is more than just training—it’s a movement. We’re helping teachers seamlessly integrate AI and technology into their lessons, boost engagement, and build classrooms that are ready for the future.”
No Barriers, Just Opportunities
The Galaxy empowered program is completely free for both educators and their schools. As an added benefit, every participant gets access to exclusive Samsung offers, including special prices on smartphones, tablets, and other electronics, along with extended warranties and free insurance options.
Shri Himanshu Gupta, Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), commended Samsung’s initiative, noting that AI will be a key enabler for improving content and assessment processes. “Initiatives like Galaxy empowered are helping teachers understand AI tools and apply them effectively,” he said.
Educators in Mumbai are encouraged to join the upcoming in-person sessions and digital training series.
