Bengaluru: To prevent the scourge of fake profiles on dating apps, the “Tinder” app has introduced “FaceCheck” login for the first time, which will work well in removing fake profiles. This will build trust among dating app users and help them find their partners. Tinder is the first dating app to introduce such a special option.
Today, the scourge of fake profiles is increasing, and frauds are being committed in someone else’s name. Thus, only the user can create and manage their profile through FaceCheck login. Yoel Roth, Senior Vice President, Trust & Safety, Match Group, opined that such an option was more necessary in India, where there is a large number of young people.
“Safety features like Face Check provide a critical tool in our fight against fake profiles and fraud, allowing people to focus on making real and meaningful connections,” he said.
Face Check™ asks new users to complete a mandatory video selfie, providing additional assurance that you’re connecting with a real person, not a bot.
In response to user feedback, Face Check™ helps improve the quality of profiles on Tinder and provides additional assurance that profiles belong to a real person. The feature uses a quick video selfie to verify that you’re a real person and not a bot or fake. It compares your selfie with your profile photos to prevent the use of someone else’s images. When your photos match, you’ll automatically receive a photo verified badge, making it easier for others to trust that you’re who you say you are. Overall, it’s designed to mak
e Tinder a safer, more authentic place to connect, he said.
