Bengaluru, November 21, 2025: Over 350 students, educators, parents, and thought leaders recently convened at the Meenakshi Rangamancha Auditorium in Bengaluru for the SAP Champions Awards 2025. The annual event celebrated young leaders who are applying life education to create real-world change through the EQUBE (Enabling Evolutionary Excellence) program.
The awards recognized students who successfully executed Social Action Projects (SAPs)—community initiatives designed to cultivate empathy, social awareness, and leadership. This year’s finalists were selected from over 14,000 students participating in the EQUBE program across five states and represented 750 diverse projects. These impactful projects tackled crucial societal issues, including environmental conservation, health awareness, animal welfare, mental health, education, nutrition, water conservation, waste management, inclusion, and community welfare.
Dr. J. M. Sampath, Founder and Managing Director of EFIL Educational Services and EQUBE, emphasized the core philosophy: “These young minds remind us that empathy and social awareness are not subjects to be taught, but values to be lived. The SAP journey empowers students to understand their responsibility to the world and act on it with conviction.”
Dr. Kalpana Sampath, Founder Director of EFIL Educational Services and Program Director for EQUBE, highlighted the personal growth achieved: “Through SAP, students experience the transformation that comes from taking responsibility for something larger than themselves. They learn to listen, empathize, and respond—qualities that will shape not just their future careers but the kind of human beings they become.”

The SAP Champions Awards are central to EQUBE’s mission to make social consciousness an integral part of school education. This initiative aligns with national educational recommendations on life skills and community action, such as CBSE and ICSE’s SEWA and SUPW, and State Curriculum’s Value education.
Over the past 18 years, EQUBE has facilitated over 13,000 projects, impacting more than 50,000 lives. Several student initiatives have earned global recognition at platforms like the Ashoka Young Changemaker Awards, TEDx, and global youth forums. Many alumni have gone on to become social entrepreneurs, returning to support the EQUBE program.
The event concluded with the screening of “Inner Curriculum – Creating Socially Conscious Changemakers,” a short documentary directed by Sangita Iyer. The film chronicles EQUBE’s 18-year journey of embedding life education into mainstream schooling, highlighting its mission to help students discover purpose, act with compassion, and live consciously. The documentary has garnered international acclaim, including the Best Award at the Toronto Female Film Festival and nominations at other global festivals.
