BENGALURU — June 5, 2026: The Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP) has officially announced its entry into Karnataka’s political arena. Aiming to disrupt the long-standing dominance of the Congress, BJP, and JD(S), the party’s primary objective is to amplify the voices of the state’s extremely backward and nomadic communities. VIP leadership confidently projected that their support will become a prerequisite for any future government formation in Karnataka.
Speaking at a press conference today at the Bengaluru Press Club to outline the party’s roadmap, VIP State Vice President Mohan Kumar B.K. highlighted the systemic political marginalization of the state’s backward classes. He emphasized that the VIP will operate on the egalitarian principles of Maharshi Valmiki, Ambigara Chowdiah, Basavanna, Gautama Buddha, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
“Our core demographic—comprising the Koli, Gangamatha, and Bestha communities—accounts for nearly 6 to 7 million people in Karnataka. Yet, it is tragic that we do not have a single representative from our community in the State Assembly,” Mohan Kumar B.K. stated.
He alleged that mainstream political parties have historically used these communities as mere vote banks, abandoning them post-election to ensure power remains concentrated within a few dominant groups.
The VIP launched a scathing critique against politicians who built their careers on the “AHINDA” (Minorities, Backward Classes, and Dalits) platform.
Without naming individuals, Mohan Kumar B.K. questioned the legacy of leaders who served as Chief Minister twice under the AHINDA banner. He accused them of nepotism and favoring only their own communities while neglecting the state’s 154 backward and 46 nomadic tribes. He demanded transparency regarding the lack of development boards and funding allocated to these marginalized factions during their tenure.
Election Strategy: Eyeing 70 Strategic Constituencies
Driven by the mission to see the children of fishermen, boat operators, washermen, weavers, and shepherds enter the Vidhana Soudha, the VIP is preparing for a robust electoral debut.
The party’s electoral strategy hinges on the following key points:
- The Power of Unity: Together, extremely backward and smaller communities command 15 to 20 million votes in Karnataka, making them influential in 70 to 80 assembly seats.
- Alliance Demands: While currently aligned with the Congress as part of the Mahagathbandhan alliance, the VIP demands ticket distribution proportionate to their population strength.
- The Independent Ultimatum: If fair representation is denied, the VIP warns it will independently field candidates in 60 to 70 strongholds.
- The Spoiler Effect: The party expects to win 10 to 20 seats directly. However, leaders noted that even in areas where they might not win, they possess the demographic weight to decisively defeat rival candidates.
The VIP urged community and religious leaders to stop settling for minor government grants and instead unite for genuine political self-determination. The party is currently producing a documentary exposing the poor conditions and lack of government funding for backward-community religious mutts.
Citing their political blueprint, Mohan Kumar B.K. pointed to the party’s success in northern India: “Youth from our Bestha community successfully built this party in Bihar. By uniting backward communities, VIP now holds three ministerial berths there. We will replicate this exact model in Karnataka. The time has come to grow our own tree and reap its fruits.”
As part of a statewide expansion strategy spanning all four revenue divisions, the VIP will host its official grand launch convention on June 7, 2026, at the Ashok Hotel in Bengaluru.
The mega-event is slated to draw between 100 and 150 influential religious heads, Rajgurus, and spiritual leaders, alongside thousands of backward-class community members from across Karnataka.
