BANGALORE – July 8, 2026 – Samsung R&D Institute India-Bangalore (SRI-B) has hit a major milestone in its community outreach, benefiting over 2 lakh (200,000) government school students across Karnataka through its flagship Notebook Initiative.
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) program was conceived in 2015 when SRI-B engineers noticed that high attendance rates in government schools were often undermined by a severe lack of basic learning materials. Since its inception, the employee-driven project has distributed nearly 15 lakh (1.5 million) notebooks.
For the 2026 drive, more than 100 SRI-B employees volunteered to distribute 42,819 notebooks to 7,620 students spanning 195 schools in the Kolar district.
Mohan Rao Goli, Corporate Vice President and Managing Director of SRI-B, emphasized that notebooks give children “the freedom to dream” and the confidence to succeed.
In addition to stationery, SRI-B has significantly scaled its support for regional education over the years. The institute regularly supplies tablets, school kits, desks, and RO water filters to local schools. It has also championed infrastructure development, which includes repainting campuses, rebuilding a school in Kembodi, and recently renovating the Government Higher Primary School in Bodenahalli.
Key Improvements Made:
- Enhanced Readability: Broke down dense paragraphs into scannable bullet points and distinct sections.
- Active Voice: Shifted sentences to a more dynamic, active tone to emphasize employee impact and the initiative’s growth.
- Clarified Numbers: Used standard numeric representations (e.g., “1.5 million” alongside “15 lakh”) to ensure clarity for diverse audiences.
