Established in association with Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar and supported by Shri N. A. Haris, MLA, the new facility in Domlur, Bengaluru, aims to provide free eye care to BPL cardholders and affordable, high-quality treatment for the wider community.
Bengaluru, 9 September 2026: Strengthening its dedication to driving meaningful social impact through its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) platform, Project Humanity, Acer India today announced the launch of the Netradeep Eye Care Center in Domlur, Bengaluru. Developed in partnership with Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar and backed by the support of Shri N. A. Haris, Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly for Shantinagara, the newly established facility is designed to tear down financial and accessibility barriers that frequently prevent vulnerable patients from securing timely diagnoses and medical interventions.
The newly inaugurated Netradeep center is fully equipped to deliver comprehensive, high-standard eye-care services, encompassing routine consultations, advanced diagnostics, specialized treatments, and surgical procedures. By targeting individuals and families who typically struggle to afford or access specialized healthcare, the facility aims to ensure that eye health is never compromised by economic limitations.
Acer India firmly operates on the philosophy that healthy vision is foundational to an individual’s capability to learn, work, maintain independence, and live a fulfilling life. However, specialized eye care remains out of reach for a substantial portion of the population due to soaring treatment costs, a lack of localized specialized facilities, and insufficient community awareness regarding preventive eye examinations.
Through the launch of Netradeep, Acer India—alongside Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar and Shri N. A. Haris—seeks to bridge this divide. Because many complex eye conditions can be managed effectively when caught early, proactive screenings and immediate access to professional medical expertise are vital. Modern lifestyle shifts, rising rates of diabetes, increased exposure to digital screens, and natural aging have collectively amplified the need for widespread public awareness surrounding preventive eye health. Netradeep aims to encourage underserved communities to prioritize routine checkups and pursue care before conditions escalate into severe impairments.
Highlighting the vision behind the initiative, Mr. Harish Kohli, President & Managing Director of Acer India Group, stated, “At Acer India, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond technology and business to creating a positive and lasting impact on the communities around us. Project Humanity represents that commitment, and Netradeep is an important addition to this journey. Good vision can transform a person’s ability to study, earn a livelihood, remain independent, and experience a better quality of life. Through Netradeep, our endeavour is to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent people from accessing quality eye care. We are grateful for the support of Shri N. A. Haris and our association with Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar in helping bring this initiative to life. Together, we hope to make timely diagnosis and treatment accessible to many more people who need it.”
Echoing this sentiment, Shri N. A. Haris, Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, noted, “Accessible healthcare initiatives can make a direct and lasting difference to people and communities. Vision is closely connected to education, livelihood, independence and overall quality of life, yet eye health is often neglected until a condition becomes serious. I am pleased to support the Netradeep initiative, which brings together Acer India and Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar with the shared objective of making quality eye care accessible to those who need it most. Initiatives such as these demonstrate how organizations can come together to address important healthcare needs at the community level. I have given up my office in the building to give way for setting up of Netradeep. I wish Netradeep every success in creating a meaningful and lasting impact.”
Comprehensive Services and Strategic Outreach
Detailing the operational framework of the center, Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar President and Chairman of the Bangalore Indiranagar Rotary Trust (BIRT), Gopinath Narayanan, explained that Netradeep is structured to function as a full-fledged treatment hub rather than a basic screening facility.
“Netradeep will not just be a screening centre, but also a treatment centre. Several eye ailments will be treated here free of cost for BPL segments of society. For those other than the BPL category, the nominal CGH rates will apply,” Mr. Narayanan shared.
He further elaborated on the patient care pathway, noting that individuals requiring complex surgeries—such as cataract procedures—will be transported to the Globe Eye Foundation at Hoskote and safely brought back post-surgery. This builds on Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar’s extensive existing footprint in supporting cataract surgeries for rural populations through regular eye camps across Kolar, Tumkur, Bengaluru, and Bengaluru Rural districts. The new Domlur center will also perform laser procedures and manage refractive errors.
Crucially, the Domlur clinic specializes in Cornea, Retina, and Glaucoma care. Because the local Domlur area historically lacked specialized retina and glaucoma services, the center addresses a critical medical void. Conditions like diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma are leading causes of irreversible blindness, making localized, advanced, and affordable intervention vital for safeguarding economically disadvantaged populations.
A Continued Commitment Through Project Humanity
Netradeep operates as an integral component of Acer India’s broader Project Humanity CSR platform, which champions initiatives across healthcare, education, social inclusion, and community well-being. The program mirrors Acer India’s overarching strategy of supporting practical interventions that tackle tangible societal challenges and foster sustainable, long-term change.
By bringing Netradeep to life alongside its valued partners, Acer India is extending its philanthropic footprint into vital healthcare infrastructure, empowering more citizens to protect one of their most precious assets: their vision.
