- Fortis Bengaluru Announces Initiative to Train 25,000+ Citizens in CPR Across Its Seven Hospitals
BENGALURU, SEPTEMBER 25, 2026: In observance of World Heart Day 2026, Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru, announced the launch of its localized heart-health awareness campaign, “Don’t Miss a Beat – Attack the Attack.” Conducted in Kannada, the initiative aims to empower local communities with the knowledge needed to adopt preventive measures, identify cardiac warning signs, and respond immediately during medical emergencies.
The campaign was officially inaugurated by chief guest Shri Raghu Dixit, acclaimed singer, composer, and producer, who created the initiative’s signature musical identity. The launch event brought together prominent cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, senior healthcare executives, patients, staff, and distinguished community members.
Culturally Tailored Advocacy for Local Impact
Reviving and evolving the core philosophy of Fortis’s established “Attack the Attack” framework, the updated campaign is adapted into Kannada to ensure direct engagement with Bengaluru’s resident population. Centered around a campaign video and a custom jingle composed by Raghu Dixit, the messaging focuses on three critical pillars:
- Prevent the Attack: Encouraging proactive lifestyle choices and regular health monitoring.
- Recognize the Attack: Educating the public on early symptoms and warning signs.
- Attack the Attack: Prompting immediate intervention and emergency action during a cardiac event.
Empowering 25,000 Citizens with CPR Skills
Extending its intervention beyond clinical facilities, Fortis Bengaluru unveiled a large-scale public health training initiative. Across its network of seven hospitals in the city, Fortis aims to train more than 25,000 citizens in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and basic emergency response protocols. The initiative seeks to build a network of informed first responders who can provide life-sustaining support while professional emergency services are en route.
Highlighting the role of creative arts in public health, Shri Raghu Dixit stated, “Music has the power to bring people together, and important messages become far more memorable when shared in a familiar and engaging way. I am pleased to partner with Fortis Bengaluru for ‘Don’t Miss a Beat – Attack the Attack’ to bring this vital heart-health message to the community in Kannada.”
Commending the initiative, Shri U.T. Khader, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, noted in a statement, “Heart health relies on awareness, prevention, and timely action within our communities. Initiatives that translate medical advice into accessible language play a key role in building a safer society. The ‘Don’t Miss a Beat – Attack the Attack’ campaign is a commendable effort, combining healthcare expertise with the reach of Kannada music. I appreciate Fortis Bengaluru and Shri Raghu Dixit for driving this vital cause.”
Emphasizing the clinical necessity of early action, Dr. Vivek Jawali, Chairman – Cardiac Sciences, Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru, said, “Time is the most critical factor during a cardiac emergency. Beyond understanding preventive care, citizens must know how to spot symptoms and respond without delay. Through this localized effort, we aim to make lifesaving awareness accessible, actionable, and memorable for everyone across Bengaluru.”
Reiterating the hospital network’s commitment, Dr. Ananth Rao, Regional Director – Operations, Fortis Hospitals, Bengaluru, added, “Awareness must move beyond hospital walls into everyday public life. By integrating localized campaign messaging with our target to train 25,000 citizens in CPR, Fortis Bengaluru is committed to building a prepared, resilient community equipped to act when seconds count.”
