The Pointers Batch of 1998 from South Point High School reunited in a grand celebration, marking 25 years since their class X board examinations. The milestone event wasn’t just about nostalgia—it was a testament to the batch’s enduring spirit of giving back and curiosity for knowledge.
The celebrations began with a visit to Save the Orphans in Rania near Ranikuthi, where batch members donated essential stationery, clothes, toys, and school supplies to over 30 children aged 4 to 12 years. At the main event, former South Point teachers were honored for their invaluable contribution to shaping this distinguished batch, which boasts accomplished professors, scientists, doctors, and corporate leaders.
Amidst emotional reunions, the group announced the formation of PONEM, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting its members and addressing broader community needs in healthcare, education, and sustainability.
The initiative continues with additional orphanage visits on December 24 and 29 to Lake Gardens Women and Child Development Centre and Prantojoner Pathshala,Bhangar respectively, reinforcing the Pointers’ commitment to creating meaningful change.
