Bengaluru, September 2025: Three patients with serious orthopaedic injuries; Shoulder injury causing rotator cuff tear, Knee injury with proximal tibia fracture, and another patient with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear have been successfully treated in Bengaluru with all the patients recovering steadily following surgical intervention and physiotherapy. The procedures, led by Dr. Chetan Muralidhara Dojode, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at SPARSH Hospital, Yelahanka, involved intricate repairs by using advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive fixation techniques.
The first case involved a 61-year-old man from Shivamogga who reported intense pain and weakness problem in his left shoulder due to a rotator cuff tear. Surgeons performed a arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with acromioplasty utilizing specialized implants in order to restore shoulder function. The recovery of patients was uneventful and he was discharged with a well guided rehabilitation plan.
Speaking about the three successful surgeries Dr. Chetan Muralidhara Dojode said: “All three surgeries were successful and the patients are expected to make a full recovery with a prescribed physiotherapy and regular follow ups. Our main focus is always on helping patients to return in their normal routine as soon as possible. Advancements in orthopaedic surgery allows us to treat such injuries with the greater precision, less pain and faster rehabilitation as well.
The second case involved a 54-year-old woman who sustained a fracture in the upper part of her left leg after a fall. Surgeons performed a bicolumnar plating procedure, in order to align and stabilize the bone with the surgical plates under the C arm guidance. Her post operative recovery was steady through the help of antibiotics, pain management and guided physical exercises to regain the strength of legs
In the third case a 53-year-old woman with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee, underwent arthroscopic ACL reconstruction. The operation was performed using key hole approach helped to restore the stability of joints. She was also discharged in a good condition and advised regular physiotherapy for the full functional recovery.
Doctors also emphasize that shoulders tears, leg fractures and ligament injuries are very common particularly among the young adults and those with the active lifestyles. Delay in treatment can lead to a long-term mobility issues and chronic pain in the body as well. Some techniques such as early diagnosis, surgical correction and physiotherapy are the key to regain the normal movement and prevent any further complications.
These three cases also highlights how modern surgical techniques and careful rehabilitation can help to restore strength and movement even after the complex orthopaedic injuries allowing patients to return in their daily life activities with full confidence and support
