After ban of halal its time for azan - thisweekindia

Bengaluru, 5th April: The state of Karnataka is in the news for the last three months, for all the wrong reasons. First, the Hijab row, followed by the anti-halal meat drive, and now the right-wing organization has demanded a ban on loudspeakers in mosques.

Raj Thackery, Chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena demanded to shut down the loudspeakers used for Azan in the mosque. He also jeopardized by saying that they will play Bhajans to revolt against Azans. Backing this statement now the right-wing has made similar demands in Karnataka.

“I have heard that Azaan is disturbing students through loudspeakers. The community has long followed the tradition of calling to prayer through loudspeakers, and this is even a problem for the studies of their children. This is my opinion about banning loudspeakers. This is not a competition between Muslims asking for prayer through loudspeakers and Hindus chanting Hanuman Chalisa. And because of the Azaan, it is a problem for students, patients, and the elderly,” Panchayat Raj minister KS Eshwarappa told reporters in Karwar.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister has criticized the state BJP government and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. He alleged them to be behind the communal tension in the state.

The BJP government has denied all the allegations made by Congress. The government quoted Supreme Court orders on noise levels. The Chief Minister has also called the congress party Hypocrite and accused them of vote bank politics.
