BAF to host panel discussion on retrospective STP & dual piping
Bangalore Apartments’ Federation (BAF),a federation that represents and protects the interests of apartment complexes across Bangalore, is organising a panel discussion on retrospective STP & dual-piping implementation with four renowned experts in the field of waste water management on April 8, 2017, at Hotel Ajantha (Rohini Hall) from 11 AM – 12.30 PM.
The panel members will discuss their perspectives on the BWSSBnotification mandating retrospective Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)and dual-piping implementation forapartments, an impractical order that has the potential to aggravate civic issuesrather than solve them. The panel will also discuss ideas and potential solutionson the issues of water shortage/management and lake pollution.
The panel discussion will have the following speakers:
Dr. Ananth Kodavasal:One of India’s foremost experts in waste water management and author of“The STP Guide” which has been published by Karnataka State Pollution ControlBoard.
Dr. T.V.Ramachandra: Coordinator of Energy and Wetlands Research Group(EWRG) and Convener of Environmental Information System (ENVIS) at Centre forEcological Sciences (CES) at IISC. He is a recipient of Namma Bengalurean Award(2017), Energy Legend (2011), Johny Biosphere Award for Ecologyand Environment (2004) and Satish Dhawan Young Scientist Award, 2007 ofKarnataka State Government.
Mr. NandaKumar: Former Chief Environmental Officer of Karnataka State PollutionControl Board (KSPCB). He brings a strong understanding of the technical andregulatory aspects relating to waste water treatment and management.
Ms. LathaRaman Jaigopal: Architect and co-founder of Inspiration, a design group, which focuseson ecology and environment sensitive designs and constructions. She is also a foundingmember and part of Governing Body of CDD - Consortium for DEWATS Dissemination,India.
