That single kitchen feeds more than 1 lakh childreneach day. I felt a buzz in my brain - this is a story, a unique story which needsto be told. My colleague Niyati Patel and I spent 2.5 years researching andwriting the book - travelling from Baran in Rajasthan to Bhubaneshwar inOrissa, interviewing the monks, the managers, the teachers, students and donorsof the program. I also started reading the Bhagvad Gita - one page a day - tounderstand the philosophical aspect. What you read in 'God's Own Kitchen'is a distillation of all that we learnt and experienced.”
