On behalf of Cognizant, I thank our passionate volunteers for their diligent efforts in ensuring timely and effective completion of the initiative. We are grateful to the government, district collectors, local authorities, school administrators and our implementation partners for their support.”
Between March 2016 and July 2 019, Cognizant’s “Project 100 Schools” initiative helped restore critical school infrastructure such as buildings, classrooms, libraries, laboratories, sporting arena, mid-day meal centres, and toilets, enabling nearly 50,000 students to fulfil their educational and extra-curricular needs, while also providing them with better, more hygienic facilities and clean drinking water.
Schools under this initiative were identified after a detailed survey of schools in the worst-affected districts. Round Table India Trust, Rotary District 3230 and Rotary Club of Madras East were implementation partners for the initiative. Cognizant contributed Rupees 13.9 crore towards the program, conducted a comprehensive assessment of the needs of these schools, and programme-managed the initiative.
