Football Tournament for the underprivileged children

19 June 2017, Bangalore: Magic Feet Football Club by Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation organised a one day football tournament for the underprivileged children in the Austin Town football grounds today. This tournament is to give an opportunity to exhibit the talent and skills of these children. The objective of the tournament is to reach out and empower the lives of the underprivileged kids through the medium of sports. The event was supported by DSV – Global Transport and Logistics.

Magic Feet FC has its proven track record of commendable work in identifying young talents and grooming them to international standards. Magic Feet has gained international name and repute by winning the “Great Wall Cup” of Beijing, China in 2014 and Melbourne Friendship Cup 2015.

16 teams along with Magic Feet participated in today’s tournament. The teams were divided into under 13 and under 15 categories. 

Mr. Elvis Joseph, Director Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation said “Organising such tournaments for the underprivileged children and youth bring more focus in taking soccer to higher levels

With a few international tournaments scheduled this year the foundation is working really hard to identify young talents and groom.

With many private academies and clubs in the city charging huge fees for the training. Magic Feet FC , has been training more than 3000 children and youth  free of cost at the Austin Town Football Grounds under the leadership of national coach Ms Mary Victoria & Ms Nancy. Giving the players the guidance, support training and platform to be better players and citizens bringing hope for a better future.

Mr. Darius Washington, Director, Project Management, Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation expressed the importance of today’s tournament and said we are selecting the players to play for forthcoming Portugal tournament which is scheduled for end of this year 2017”..
