‘#GoKeralaTravellers’ Meet up’concludes on a high note

Kovalam, November 21st:The Tourism Department of Kerala organized ‘#GoKeralaTravellers’ Meet up’in association with HolidayIQ.com in Kovalam today. Organized as a grand culmination of the unique initiative- #GoKerala; Dr. Venu V, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala and Mr. P. Bala Kiran, Director, Kerala Tourism and Managing Director, Kannur International Airportgraced the occasion with their esteemed presence.

Last month,the tourism department of Kerala launched a unique marketingcampaign#GoKeralain association with HolidayIQto promote state tourism.Underthis campaign, five lucky couples from Delhi, Mumbai and Gujaratwon a 10 days,all-expense paid trip to Kerala for visiting pristine destinations of Kerala.The travelers began the #GoKerala journey from Kasargod and completed the tripin Thiruvananthapuram.

At theevent, the travellers shared their experience and amusing storieson variousaspects of Kerala Tourism. Kerala Tourism andHolidayIQ specially curated thetravel itinerary to showcase the picturesque beauty of Kerala, going beyond itsbackwaters and honeymoon destinations.

Highlightingthe objective of the initiative undertaken, Dr. Venu V, Principal Secretary,Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala stated,“The continuous endeavors ofKerala Tourism have resulted in accelerating the growth of state tourism.Kerala has immense tourism potential, which is yet to be explored by the travelenthusiasts.The sole objective of this unique initiative was to promote theunexplored destinations of Kerala and position Kerala as a family holidaydestination across the globe.”

#GoKeralacampaignwasa content led, multiple platform campaign with a dedicated microsite,integrated touchpoints and targeted reach. The campaign received anoverwhelming response from travellers across the country, looking for theperfect destination to holiday this winter season. The experiential campaign,unlike traditional marketing campaigns, is completely powered by the holidayexperiences and reviews of authentic travellersacross the country.

Speakingabout the campaign,Mr. P. Bala Kiran, IAS, Director, Kerala TourismandManagingDirector, Kannur International Airportsaid,“The tourism department has alwaysbeen keen on planning and executing new and innovative marketing campaigns withthe aim of positioning Kerala as one of the top tourist destinations in India.The campaign offered the vacationers a great opportunity to unleash theirtravellers’ spirit, while promoting the state tourism and showcasingdiversified products and services that Kerala Tourism offers.”

The#GoKerala campaign reached out to 10 million users with 3500 entries for thecontest. Five lucky couples got an opportunity to visit ten scenic and pristinedestinations of Kerala between November 11th – 20th 2017, covering 23 keyattractions of ‘God’s Own Country’. From Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram, thetravellers visited Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Kochi, Alappuzha,Kollam and Kovalam. The organizers received 3000 pictures as well as 650reviews/stories in the form of video and text.
