Havells appoints Dr. Mukul Saxena as Executive Vice President & Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

New Delhi, June 18, 2018: Havells India Limited has appointed Dr. Mukul Saxena as Executive Vice President & Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Dr. Saxena will head Havells’ Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) function, and will further augment company’s customer centric innovative approach.

A seasonedInnovation & Technology professional, Dr. Saxena brings with him over 34years of global experience across Energy, Industrial automation, Digitalization& Healthcare sectors with expertise in R&D, Strategic Planning, ProjectManagement, Innovation & Technology Management, Product Development formultiple industry segments. In the past he has built and lead teams with core focus areas as Computational Mechanics, Mechanical Design and Simulations,Electronics & Embedded Systems, Automation & Controls, and industrialturbines R&D. 

Prior tojoining Havells, Dr. Saxena headed Siemens Corporate Research &Technologies, India Labs (CTI). He worked  in Siemens as Sr. VicePresident & Head of CTI, where he had a long & rewarding associationfor 14 years and was primarily responsible for building up the research center for Siemens in India. He started his career with GE Corporate R&DCenter in Niskayuna, NY (USA) and relocated to India in 1997 to join EicherGoodearth Ltd as Dy. General Manager for Engineering Systems. While working forEicher he was also responsible for setting up their in-house Center ofExcellence for Engineering Analysis. In 2000, he moved to GE-ITC (John F Welch TechnologyCenter) as Technical Director for Advanced Mechanical Engineering and laterworked as their only non-US based Global Technology Leader for MechanicalTechnologies.   

Ph.D. &M.S. from University of Rochester, New York, USA and Bachelor of Technology(Mechanical) from IIT-Kanpur, Dr. Mukul Saxena holds a number of Honors &Awards and has been a member of various Professional bodies. He has been themember of Governing board for AIIMS-SIB-Siemens Consortium, member of AcademicAdvisory committee of PESIT-Bangalore, member Academic Senate – InternationalInstitute for Information Technology-Bangalore, Board of Governors for IITMadras (2004-05), Co-editor for a book on Geometry & OptimizationTechniques for Structural Design and Authored or Co-authored 30 technicalpublications as chapters of books, international journals & conferenceproceedings.
