Hundreds to participate in the Run for caste-free India to mark Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Birthday

Hyderabad, April 12, 2018. Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) and Prabuddha Bharat International (PBI) are organising ‘Run for caste-free India’ here on Saturday to mark the 127th birth anniversary of greatest philosopher and Architect of Modern India Babasaheb Dr. B.R.Ambedkar.

The run will start from People’s Plaza, Necklace road, at 6.30 a.m andreach the Ambedkar statue.

Many celebrities from film industry, politicians, media, sports, socialactivists, dalit entrepreneurs, professionals, businessmen, women, students,young boys and girls will participate.

Hundreds will run wearing blue T-shirts.“We are humans. There should beno consideration of caste. That was the idea and ideal of Dr. B.R Ambedkarwhose birthday we are celebrating soon. He strove and thought for a caste-lesssociety. The best tribute to him would be to demolish the caste system,”informed the press note issued by DICCI in the city

Many social organisations including Swaroes, Lions Club International,Jaycee International, and Sports Authority of Telangana, Oxley are supportingthe event.

This is the seventh edition since 2012.

Nearly 10,000 people are expected to participate in the run.  Theresponse to the run is increasing each passing year informed DICCI.
