‘IGNITE’ the movie lover in you

Bengaluru, January 21st, 2018: Bengaluru’s premiere IFIM College hosted IGNITE- a two-day Film Festival on the 19th and 20th of January at the college auditorium. The agenda was to provide a platform that serves as an impetus to young minds to unleash their inherent creativity.

The event comprised activities such as Short Film Making contest the winner for best film being Samara, Best Editor- Door no. 143, Best Screenplay- Kanasina Prapancha, Best Actor for Samara, Best Director for Bluff, and Best Cinematographer for Alike. Other contests such as story writing contest and photo stories contest along with a photography workshop were also held.  

Sharing her views on the student organized event, Dr. Anupama Natarajan, Principal, IFIM College said, “In this era of constant innovation in every field, creativity is the currency for success. Ignite is an ideal platform for young minds to explore their skills and present their creativity in different ways. It is important for Colleges to provide an engaging practical exposure to students to prepare them better for their continuous employability.”

Popular names of the Kannada industry like National Award-winning director Mr. Manso Re, a veteran of the film industry- Mr. Sunil Puranik, Mr.Sagar Puranik and the crew of their upcoming short film, director Mr. Sathya Prakash, cinematographer Ms. Navya Kadame, and novelist Ms. Preeti Shenoy were present at the event as guests.

Premier screening of a short film by noted film maker Mr. Sagar Puranik took place on 19th at IFIM Auditorium as a part of the IFIM Ignite Film Festival-2019 

On 20th January, the nine short films selected by the judging panel were screened for the general public.
