IIT Guwahati’s annual Guwahati Half Marathon on August 27
2nd August, 2017; Guwahati: Stepping into its 9th year of unmatched technical celebration, Techniche – IIT Guwahati will be organising its 9th edition of Guwahati Half Marathon on August 27, 2017 from the Bhogeswari Phukanani Indoor Stadium near GNRC Hospital, Dispur.
The annualevent will witness professional runners competing in the 21 km run whilecollege and school students seeking to bring home the general championship. Thegeneral public will feature in the 6 km-spirit run, while all those artists whomight not have the physical capacity to run the 6 km, but still want to supportthe cause, may compete in a painting competition. All races will start fromBhogeswari Phukanani Indoor Stadium at 6:15 am on August 27.
Ever sinceits inception in 2009, the Marathon has evolved coherently over the years tocurrently stand as the largest half Marathon in North East India. Thetheme for this year’s Guwahati Half Marathon will be “Organ donation – LiveLife, Give Life”.
GuwahatiHalf Marathon has become an integral part of the Techniche family. It is atradition which has been changing this society bit by bit. Spreading love inthis world is what this tradition aims to be.
Last yearthe event was graced by a renowned Indian footballer Durga Boro asan ambassador of the mega event. The previous edition witnessed a total of 7000participants.
