IMTEX FORMING 2018 & Tooltech 2018 Paves Way for Technological Advancements
Bangalore,5th February, 2018: IMTEX FORMING 2018 & Tooltech 2018 organized by Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru from 25th to 30th January 2018, which was largest in the series, concluded on a positive note. The exhibition size grew by 18 per cent and showcased future technologies which could be vital for enhancing productivity for Indian manufacturing industry.
Exhibitorsdisplayed wide range of high-end presses, laser cutting machines, andtechnologies related to bending and tube drawing. Advanced technologies such asIndustry 4.0 and Internet of Things were also displayed by many exhibitors.Automation, robotics, sensors, CAD/CAM and tools that were more related tosupport the metal forming user industries were also displayed.
Internationalassociations from Germany, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, UK and USA also participatedin the exhibition.
Parallelevents also recorded good visitor turnouts.
Over 350participants from 130 companies participated in the International Seminar onForming Technology held on 24th January 2018 at BIEC,Bengaluru.
Researchersfrom 44 institutions presented their R&D projects. The best researchprojects were awarded. Marathwada Institute of Technology won the first prize.PDPM IIIT DM won the second prize and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay wonthe third prize. Companies entered into tie-ups with some of these institutionsto use their research for commercial purposes.
Twenty-onedelegates from 7 countries took part in the International Buyer-Seller Meetheld from 27th to 28th January 2018.
More than2000 students from over 50 institutions took part in ‘i Connect’ to enrichthemselves with opportunities in store for them in the manufacturing sector.
Delegationsfrom public and private sectors representing user industries such as autocomponents, aerospace, defence, railways, electrical and electronics, plasticmachinery, white and brown goods, medical engineering, and others took part inthe show.
Speakingabout the significance of IMTEX FORMING 2018 on the small and mediumenterprises (SMEs), IMTMA President P. Ramadas said, “Indian manufacturinglandscape has a significant number of SMEs. The exhibition was important forfulfilling their aspirations and goals. The SMEs were able to leverageopportunities which would enable them rise a notch higher. The presence ofdecision making authorities from original equipment manufacturers (OEM)resulted in securing well qualified leads and accelerated the sales process atthe show. The show generated overwhelming response from SMEs engaged inmanufacturing of vices, presses, manufacture of parts such as wheels and castors,measuring, welding and material handling solutions, and so on.”
Reflectingon the potential of the show, IMTMA Director General & CEO, V. Anbu added,“IMTEX FORMING 2018 was the largest in the series in terms of exhibition areaas well as exhibitors. There has been a significant increase in the number ofbusiness visitors which affirmed the immense potential of businessopportunities that the exhibition had in store for the manufacturing industry.The show will further strengthen the bonds between machine tool manufacturersand customers and we hope the leads generated during the show will result ingood business outcome.”
IMTEXFORMING 2018 served to open up the way for development of Indian metal formingsector by acting as an enabler to forging long-term business relationshipswhich could lead to the growth of the country’s economy.
