Inauguration of Toyota Centre of Excellence at GLOBAL ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGY, BANGALORE.
Bangalore, November 19th 2018: Global Academy of Technology in continuation of its sustainable efforts towards Skill Development, established the Toyota Centre of Excellence in association with Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), Bidadi, Bengaluru. The concept of establishing Toyota Centre of Excellence is well aligned to enhance the practical skills of students and to meet the growing industry requirements. Toyota handed over one cut section of the vehicle engine and an assembled engine. The key focus is to enable comprehensive learning opportunities for the students, offering them a first-hand experience of the vehicle engine. The engine cut section will showcase the component set-up in an engine and its related functioning. While the engine assembly section enables the students to gain an insight of the real orientation of the assembled engine including the dismantling and re-assembling techniques, thus achieving high quality skill sets in engine operating mechanism. The event was graced by Shri Lepaksha S, Secretary – National Education Foundation, Shri. Venkatappa, Additional Secretary – National Education Foundation and Ms. D.K. S. Aishwarya, Secretary - National Education Foundation. Also, present at the event were Mr. B. Padmanabha, Vice President and Mr. Naveen Soni - Vice President representing the senior management team of Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naveen Soni - Vice President - Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Centre of Excellence at Global Academy of Technology helps the students to enhance the knowledge in automotive technology thereby providing a highly skilled workforce to match with evolving skill demands of the automotive industry. We believe such practical exposure would enable the students to cope with different levels of operations associated with functional mechanisms.”
Shri. Venkatappa, Additional Secrectary, National Education Foundation highlighted the need for skilled students reducing the gap between the industry and the institutes. He emphasized the importance of hands-on training for the students beyond the existing curriculum.
