Indian para cycling coach Aditya Mehta positive about a good performance
Pietermaritzburg (South Africa), August 30: With 38 countries all set for the challenge, the Indian para-cycling team in its maiden appearance at the World Cycling Championship is also raring to take the field in the cycling friendly city of Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
Theteam">#222222;mso-fareast-language:EN-IN">Theteam which comprises of four para cyclists who were soldiers in the past andhad lost limbs in the line of duty – Harinder Singh, Kaigoulal, Ajay Singh,Ajay Kumar and Gold medalist at Asian Games (2017) Abhisek is the lone civilianmember in the team. All were taken under the wings of Aditya Mehta Foundation(AMF) a year back and transformed from amateur cyclists to professional ones;only to become Asian Champions earlier this year.
“Theteam">#222222;mso-fareast-language:EN-IN">“Theteam underwent a yearlong rigorous training in Hyderabad where in specialattention was given to make them ride like professional cyclist and build theirphysic, competition understanding and experiences of participation. And in lessthan a year’s time extensive RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) training has onlymade them stronger and confident before leaving for South Africa; Aditya Mehta,leading the coaching team of the Indian Para Cyclist said on the eve of theWorld Championships.

Asthe">#222222;mso-fareast-language:EN-IN">Asthe Championship kicks starts from Thursday (tomorrow) and will begoing on till September 3, 2017. The Indian contingent will beparticipating in the Individual Time Trial and Individual Road Race in theMC1-MC5 category. The events will be taking place on September 1st and3rd, 2017.
