Kannada Rajyotsava at BMS College

Bengaluru, 4th December 2018 - BMS Evening College of Engineering played host to ‘Chirantana' , a vibrant, colourful festival celebrating Kannada Rajyotsava 2018. The event had a bright, colourful air of festivities around it , with Rangoli Art and festoons , beautifully done by the students themselves. Of note is that these students work hard during the day and don’t let the enthusiasm for learning be dampened by tiredness , a promising sign for Karnataka and young India in the new wave of enterprise and educational progress.

The chief guest of the evening was internationally renowned Children & Young People’s Psychiatrist, Musician, Artist, Speaker , Author and humanitarian Dr Ramya Mohan. Dr Ramya’s significant contributions to society through her innovative body of work and her multifaceted approach to the diverse areas of youth development , mental health , music , art ,neuroscience , healthcare and society were lauded and she was felicitated in the presence of noted educationists and dignitaries, including Dr Dayananda Pai (Chairman , BMS Educational Institutions ) and Prof. K.Guruprasad (Principal of the college). 

The highlight of the evening was an energetic and fun-filled musical show by Dr Ramya and her band of musicians . Dr Ramya enthralled audiences by belting out popular kannada hits, bhavageethe, folk songs and film songs in quick succession, keeping the audience on their toes.Her musical journey took the audiences through the ages , with Dr Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Shankar Nag and Ambareesh hits to name a few and the audience were dancing and clapping away in tune to her energy and mellifluous voice. 

The students aptly compered for the lively evening. Dr Guruprasad welcomed the august invitees and the audience . He proposed a vote of thanks to everyone for an evening well-organised . Dr Dayananda Pai spoke of his happiness in being a part of the occasion and meeting Dr Ramya Mohan. He inspired and encouraged the students to move forth in life with high dreams and confidence in themselves.
