Lakmé Fashion Week’s Gen Next designers participate in 3-city tour

National, 29th November 2018: After successfully debuting their labels at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018, the five Gen Next designers are showcasing their collections fresh off the runway through a 3-city roadshow at multi-designer stores in Kolkata, Chennai and Raipur. These exceptionally talented and promising labels will showcase their most commercial yet stylish ensembles through a Pop-Up in these multi-designer stores. The first showcase was at BOMBAIM in Kolkata followed by AMETHYST in Chennai that took place over the weekend. The road show is now poised for a Raipur debut in the first week of December at AZRA multi-designer store.

he Gen Next Designer Programme at LFW has given the Indian fashion industry some of its biggest designers like Rahul Mishra, Masaba Gupta, Aneeth Arora and many more. Every season, the Gen Next designer selection is done by the LFW Advisory Board after which each handpicked Gen Next designer goes through a 2-month training programme with the LFW Gen Next designer programme mentor, Sabina Chopra.

Dedicated racks in multi-designer fashion boutiques showcased designer Ajay Kumar Singh’s label ‘AUR’ which is inspired by the imagination of mentally disabled children; Anurag Gupta’s collection which includes eye-catching play of silhouettes, forms, colors, fabrics and dyes; Kanika Sachdev’s ensembles in Khadi, cotton, Chanderi silk and silk organza; Shweta Gupta’s striped fitted trousers, concealed placket shirts and striped capes in earthy colors; and Yadvi Agarwal’s label ‘YAVI’, comprising of indigenous traditional textiles inspired by the city of Paris.
