LALHRUAIZELA AND LALNUNSANGA FROM MIZORAM AND VAROON S OF CHENNAI ACHIEVED
India, August 9, 2017: Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup returned to Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore for Round 2 of some superb racing on the weekend of 4th – 6th August. The riders had an action packed weekend beginning with multiple Practice Sessions and Rider Briefing on Friday.Saturday hosted Qualifying sessions followed by Race 1. The weekend culminated on Sunday with Race 2.
In the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup, Race 1 witnessed two tight battles between Jaden Gunawardena and Lalhruaizela for 1st position and Lalnunsanga and Varoon for 3rd position. This time, Lalhruaizela from Mizoram upped his game and was close on the heels of Jaden providing a spectacular showdown to the finish line with just 1/100th of a second between the top two finishers!
Race 2 had Lalhruaizela and Varoon S fighting for 2nd position all throughout and Jaden took advantage of their spat and clinched the win by a comfortable margin of 3 seconds. At the end, Lalhruaizela got the better of Varoon and took 2nd with a lead of 0.8 seconds only!

Both the Suzuki Gixxer Cup and theRed Bull Road to Rookies Cup are being run as a part of the prestigious 20th JKTyre FMSCI National Racing Championship 2017. While the Road to Rookies Cupcaters to riders between the ages of 12 and 16 years, the Suzuki Gixxer Cup isfor riders of 17 years and older.

Last year’sRed Bull Road to Rookies Cup winner Sachin Chaudhary also improved hisperformance in the Suzuki Gixxer Cup Races and finished both Round 2 Open racesin 4th position. He is confident that he will fight for thepodium in the coming rounds.
SachinChaudhary credited programmes like the Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup, whichallows amateur riders to learn while competing with talented upcoming riderslike himself. “Definitely, a platform like Rookies Cup helps many of mykind for performing in future. The only point I think, which will help ourriders to perform there [international events] comprehensively is to undergoproper training in India before they head to compete at the internationallevel,” he said.
“Fromwinning the Road to Rookies Cup, to the journey in Spain was unquestionablyquite challenging,” the 17-year old said recalling the time. “Themain problem was having much less time for practice. I tried my very best toacclimatize myself both physically and mentally for the event. Racing on a newtrack (Circuito Gaudix in Granada, Spain), a new bike (125cc Metrakit) was atough situation. And despite the loss, I gained some much-needed experience,and also some new tricks which I am able to put in use in my racing now.”
SachinChaudhary added “The Gixxer Cup has been a great experience thus far.It has some stiff competition, giving me the opportunity to experiment withlots of new ideas and has also been helping me in my growth plans.”

The secondedition of Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup would culminate in the 3rd roundat Kari, as the most talented rider (of Indian Nationality) will head to Spainand get a chance to represent India in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies CupQualifiers in September.
