“Last Over,” a Comedy play to be performed in the city on February 9 for Rotary Club

Hyderabad, January 2018….Last Over, an urban, situational comedy in Hindi, revolving around young and newly married couple from Pakistan and India will be performed here in the city at Hotel Marriott Convention Centre on February 9, 2018, for raise funds

The play isto be organized by Rotary Sunrise Service Trust, a charity wing of Rotary Clubof Secunderabad Sunrise.  

The play iswitty; the characters are given unique characteristics in theplay.  The play is known for plenty of punches to keep the audienceengaged for two hours. The Cast of the play includes Rakesh Bedi, AnanthMahadevan, Gunjan Malhotra, Abhishek Patnaik, Zachary Coffin & AbhishekKrishnan.  About 800 theater lovers are expected to watch theplay.  The play is written by – Abhishek Pattnaik   andDirected by – Suketu Shah 

In the last17 years, the Rotary Club of Secunderabad Sunrise has taken up service projectsworth approximately Rs 2crore. 

The theaterplay is conceived to raise funds to take up Sanitation works in the 27government schools where the Club has in the past supplied 2000 benches at thecost of Rs 65 lakh. The club members visited the schools and found thefacilities to be in an unusable and dilapidated state. 

The club hastaken up this project under the theme “WINS & WASH” to provide clean andusable precast sanitation systems to the identified 27 schools. The totalproject outlay is approximately Rs. 40Lakh and we aim to raise these funds viaa Fund Raiser.

Rotary IndiaWinS Program is a pan India campaign initiated by Rotary in India under theleadership of TRF Trustee & Past Rotary International Director Sushil Guptaas  its Chairman, in support of the national campaign “Swachh Bharat- SwachhVidyalya” launched by HRD Ministry under “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan” initiatedby our Prime  Minister Narendra Modi. 

A keyfeature of the campaign is to ensure that government schools in India have aset of functioning and well-maintained water, sanitation and hygienefacilities. It aims to improve the curriculum and teaching methods whilepromoting hygiene practices and community ownership of water and sanitationfacilities within schools. It improves children’s Health, school enrolment,attendance, and retention and paves the way for new generation of healthychildren. 

WASH inSchools helps fulfill the universal right to education and health and meets itsrole in achieving the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, therebyincreasing access to primary education, reducing child mortality, advancinggender equality and meeting targets for improving water and sanitation. 

Some of theservice projects of the club include: Irrigation project at Boorgamped Village,Bhadrachalam at the cost of Rs 60 lakh; School benches to 27 government schoolsat the cost of Rs 65 lakh.  It is the single largest project everundertaken by a single Rotary Club, through the CSR route of funding –fundingby BHEL.
