MDI Gurgaon takes a giant leap in international collaboration & join hands with ESCP Europe

New Delhi, 19 April, 2018: Taking another giant stride towards its vision of academic excellence and continuous innovation and help its students showcase their talent at a global stage and learn from the best in the business, MDI Gurgaon signed a dual degree Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ESCP Europe at Gurugram based campus on Wednesday 18 April, 2018.This pact becomes important in view of the recent India visit by the French President, Emmanuel Macron. This partnership of equals in education industry will bolster management education and create global business leaders.

Through thisinternational collaboration, MDI students will spend first year in MDI andsecond year in ESCP Europe. At the end of their academic years, the studentwill be entitled to get dual degrees - the MDI Post Graduate Diploma inInternational Management (PGPIM) and the ESCP Masters in Management (MIM). Likethe International Management Programme of MDI, the MIM Programme at ESCP Europeis equally reckoned world-wide and aims at developing the next generation ofinternational business leaders to embrace global opportunities. The MIM programat ESCP Europe is ranked 6th in entire Europe by Financial Times. 

Establishedin 1819, ESCP Europe is the oldest business school in the world. Its mission isto develop the next generation of transnational business leaders, preparingthem to embrace the opportunities offered by cultural diversity. On thishistoric occasion of coming together of two institutions from East andWest, Prof. Leon Laulusa, Executive Vice-President, Dean for AcademicAffairs and International Relations at ESCP Europe shared “thiscollaboration with our flagship programme will emphasize on mutual recognitionof degrees, blended learning and cultural integration. Our partnership withglobally acclaimed MDI is one such initiative whereby students will benefitfrom an Indian and a foreign degree both.” 

Speaking onthe occasion, Dr Himadri Das, Director, MDI, said, “The two schoolsare the pioneers in higher business education industry and together we willwork on an ambitious growth plan. This watershed event will create the trendfor schools to follow. We can grow faster as our partnership grows”.

The ceremonywas attended by Prof. Jyoti Gupta, Professor of Finance at ESCP Europe who isinvolved with teaching and research activities at both the London and Pariscampuses of ESCP Europe. Also present were Prof. S Chatterjee, Dean –International Relations, MDI and Prof. Avinash Kapoor, Chairperson,International Relations MDI.
