Mithun looks forward to taking Sumeru foods to leap frog in India and international markets

Mumbai, September 20, 2017: India’s leading frozen foods brand Sumeru, under Innovative Foods Ltd, has appointed MithunAppaiah as the Chief Executive Officer of India and International Operations. In his new role, Appaiah will lead the company to new avenues of growth and expansion. He holds a PGDM in Business Administration and Management from IFIM Business School, Bangalore and was the topper in marketing.

An FMCG expert inFood and Beverage industry, MithunAppaiah has an rich experience spanning across the spectrum of marketing, sales, key account management, customermarketing, business development, SCM, R&D, P&L management, developingnew business channels, E-commerce and start-up acceleration.

He has also workedwith Nestle India Ltd. handling urban and rural markets with an aim to buildthe rural market footprint and expand distribution to feeder towns. He hasplayed an instrumental role in creating progressive and profitable business forbrands such as Britannia, UB Group and Seagrams

In his lastassignment, he was the Vice President with ID foods which saw disruptivegrowths under his leadership. Under his watch the revenues, retail footprinttripled in 2 years. He also pioneered retail expansion, Marketing, digitalinitiatives, new channel development,R&D as well as many disruptive firstin the industry concepts.

Commenting on hisnew role as CEO, Mr. MithunAppaiah said, “Sumeru is a trusted nameand consumerslove the consistent quality that it delivers. Our focus will be on bringinginnovative products to Indian and global consumers and take the Sumeruexperience deeper into the existing markets which are presently untapped. Appaiah has wonseveral awards for excellence in Nestle, Britannia and UBgroup. He also mentors aspiring business managers as well as a few startups inthe consumer space.
