SPB and Team enthralled packed hall of Shilpakala Vedika to raise funds for 70 bedded India’s biggest Palliative Care Center—Sparsh Hospice
Hyderabad,April 03, 2018….. Myfather, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana State is a goodsinger; he won many prizes in his college days. He is a greate fan of SPBalasubrahmanya, and Ghantasala said, KT Rama Rao while addressing at the“Sparsh Nite 2018--The Life & Times of SP Balasubrahmanyam”, a Concert fora Cause held on Saturday night at Shilpakala Vedika in Madhapur inthe city.
KT Rama Raowas the Chief Guest at the event which was organized to raise funds toconstruct the 70 bedded India’s biggest Sparsh Hospice, a palliative carecenter which provides free service to the terminally ill cancerpatients. The Government of Telangana allocated an acre land for thepurpose at Khazaguda.
The 70bedded Sparsh Hospice Facility for treatment of soon to die cancer patients iscoming up at the cost of Rs 10crore. The 55000 sq feet facility constructionwill begin soon and will be completed in one year’s time.
Speakingfurther, KT Rama Rao responding to the request from Ramana, President of RotaryClub of Banjara Hills, whose brain child is Sparsh Hospice, Rao requested GHMCcommissioner, who was also present in the hall to waive off Building PlanApproval Fee which would be approximately Rs 25 lakh.
KT Rama Raodescribed Sparsh Hospice services as yeoman services, and anybody could be avictim of Cancer. He assured them full support from TelanganaGovernment.
The state istaking up Cancer Screening of people below the povertyline. So far 12 lakh people are screened for Breast, Cervicaland Oral Cancer in four districts of Telangana, he said.
Anotherguest VVS Lakshman who graced the occasion while addressing the gathering saidSparsh Hospice is a wonderful initiative and needs support fromeverybody. He said SP Balasubrahamanyama is his role model and he isa fan of him and liked Shakarabharanam song.
SP BalaSubrahmanyam, his sister SP Sailaja, son S.P. Charan, Revanth, Tina Kamal,Ramya Behera, Sravya, Malavika, Sai Charan, Sri Nidhi, Poorenima, Sri Krishna,Sameera Bharadwaj and his team of his singers enthralled the audience.
The galaxyof film stars graced the event include: All Arjun, SirivennelaSitarama Sastry, R.P. Patnaik and others. The musical night wascompered by Jhansi.

Some of the famous numbers churned outby the singers include Anuvu anuvuan velsaina deva; Priya ragale gundelona;yennalo vechina udayam, Chitram bhalare vichitram; Ravi Varmake andanal, Ghallu ghallu mani sirimuvvalle; Kadali raade tane vasantham, antaryamialasithi solasithi; Uppondgele Godavari. Throughthis concert which will be an annual affair, we hope to raise Rs 50 lakhinformed Ram Mohan Rao, CEO of Sparsh Hospice.

SparshHospice has been providing free service to 1800 patients in the last 12 years,he informed.

The aim ofthis free palliative care was to help patients in the final stages of cancer toembrace death without regrets. A team of volunteers and doctors help ease theexcruciating pain, anxiety, and depression that afflict patients, if not curethem completely.
