NSDC ties up with Czech Aviation Training Centre (CATC) to establish Aviation Skill Academies

Bangalore, June 6th, 2018: National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, collaborated with Czech Aviation Training Centre (CATC) to establish skill academies in private universities and offer Aviation related courses for aspiring students. The training will help aspiring candidates in securing a career in the aviation sector across various job roles i.e. Cabin Crew, ATC pre-training and Aviation Security.

Theagreement will facilitate Short Term Courses and Diploma/ Degree programs inAviation sector for both Service and Maintenance segment in a phased manner atUniversities recommended by NSDC. The required training will be provided basedon industry defined standards under National Skills Qualification Framework,which will be further aligned to the EASA standards. Placements will be facilitatedfor all students who successfully complete their training program, across bothnational and international airlines. To run the Cabin Crew Training, CATC willinvest approximately EUR 12,000 (Euros Twelve Thousand) to set-up a Lab in eachof the university and will be further provide all the required equipment’s forsafety and service within the skill academy at the university. 

Commentingon the partnership, Mr. Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, NSDC said, “The aviation sector hasemerged as one of the fastest growing industry in the country over the lastthree years. Our collaboration with CATC will help students acquire the rightskill required to secure a career in the aviation sector. The successfulcandidates trained under this partnership will pass the entry screening of anAllied Domestic or International airline. We will also provide employmentlinkages under this partnership which will help make skill training effectiveand aspirational.” 

Mr.Antonin Jakubse, CEO, CATC said, “CATC is proud to collaborate with NSDC and contributetowards the Skill India Initiative. We are setting up Labs in universities toprovide training for Cabin Crew, ATC Pre training and Aviation Security. Duringthe fiscal year, CATC will explore the possibility of installing first of itskind in India, advanced equipment like CEET Simulator for A320 cabin crewtraining and install it at a University recommended by NSDC with an expectedinvestment of approximately INR 4.5 Crores.” 

In the firstand second phase, CATC will conduct training on Cabin Crew, ATC Pre trainingand Aviation Security. In phase three CATC would recommend training on Loadcontroller, Flight dispatcher, Airport Safety Crew, Airport X-ray QualifiedStaff.
