Preethi Kongara and Vijay Kumar continue their good performance
Hyderabad, July 25, 2019.The Monsoon Regatta Fleet Racing takes a break for 2 days and the teams from Bangalore, Bhopal, Bombay and Goa with 4 teams from Hyderabad form teams and battle it out for the Team Championships during the next two days.
This format is being sailed after a gap of 15 years in India and is a quick T20 type of format as against the Test type long format for Fleet Racing .
There were 9 teams and Vijay Kumar led his team from Trishna Sailing Club Bangalore to top the leader board after 30 races when the Race Committee decided to close racing for the day.
Trishna Sailing Club won 7 races out of 8 they sailed followed by NSS Bhopal led by Uma Chauhan who won 5 races pretty much giving them space in the semis.
The other two teams that are likely to hit the semis are Yacht Club of Hyderabad led by Preethi Kongara and the Navy Boys Sports School led by Vishvanath Padidala from Goa who have two more races to sail tomorrow before the top 4 are decided .
The weather in the morning session was intense with boats often losing control in this tight format of 10 minute races.
The Team Champion of India will be decided tomorrow after the semis and the finals which will be sailed in knock out format and sailing any deciders

The Main Ranking Monsoon Regatta 2019 will re commence with some heavy duty racing on the 27 morning and conclude on 28 evening with a Prize giving
With just 6 races of 12 completed it could be anybody’s Championship but surely Preethi Kongara and Vijay Kumar seem set to hit the podium
