Many states like Kerala, West Bengal, Gujarat have Signature Tourism Road Shows. We want to make Telangana Tourism Conclave a Signature Road Show to promote Telangana Tourism across India: Hari Kishan Valmiki and Gowra Srinivas

Unique B 2 B meet inaugurated.  50,000 B 2 B meetings are expected to take place over 500 tourism products and services between 100 plus exhibitors and business visitors.  All this is happening in “Paper Free” and “Plastic Free” environment:  Kari Kishan Valmiki, Chairman of Telangana Tourism Conclave 2018, FTAPCCI.We need Tourism Police to ensure the safety of tourists.  Goa, Maharashtra and others have. Also, why can’t we have if we want to promote Telangana Tourism largely observe tourism professionalsHyderabad, June 29, 2018. Buddha Vanam, a Buddhist theme park at Nagarjuna Sagar would be inaugurated very soon, maybe in a month or so.  Hon’ble President of India, his Excellency Ram Nath Kovind has shown a keen interest in the project. Also, he is likely to inaugurate it informed B. Manohar, Managing Director of Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd(TSTDC) interacting with the media on the sidelines of the ongoing Telangana Tourism Conclave 2018.B. Manohar, was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the unique B2B meet along with Gowra Srinivas, President of FTAPCCI, Hari Kishan Valmiki, Chairman of Telangana Tourism Conclave 2018 and others. While interacting with the media after the inauguration, B. Manohar exuded confident that Telangana State would emerge as Buddhist Heritage Center in the country in the near future. It is a Rs 100crore project developed over 100acres land.  Four to five lakh Buddhist tourist visit Buddha Gaya in Bihar. Telangana State would like to attract all these visitors. We want Budha Vanam to be included in Buddhist Circuit so that we will attract tourists from Bhutan, Srilanka, Tibet, South-East Asian countries and many other countries. Buddha Vanam is comprised of eight segments – Buddha Chaithravanam, Jathaka Chakra, Dhyana Vanam, Stupa Park, Acharya Nagarjuna International Higher Buddhist Learning Centre, Lower Krishna Valley Park and   Maha Sthupa, B. Manohar informed. A meditation center will come up there.  All historical models collected from Buddhist places will be kept in the Budha Vanam.  Sri Lanka sponsored an idol, which will also be placed there. A Buddhist University would also come near the Buddhist Theme Park at Nagarjuna Sagar informed the senior officer. The officials have identified 27 Buddhist sites in the state. Also, efforts are on to develop them.  Manohar told that the state government was contemplating to bring all of them under the umbrella of Buddha Vanam. When asked about the long-pending “Tourism Policy,” the senior official stated that it is a long pending issue. We have a draft policy after studying Tourism Policies of many states.  A private organization scrutinized the draft policy. It was sent to the approval of the Chief Minister, who was under an opinion that there was no separate policy required. Instead, he suggested that a GO can be issued.  He hopes to get the GO issued in next fortnight or so, said B. Manohar. There is a misconception among the tour operators and travel agents that Tourism in Telangana means just Hyderabad. But, there are less explored or developed destinations.  Similarly whatever the tourists arrive in the state are for MICE and Medical Tourism.  Not many visit the state for leisure and pilgrimage. We need to change this.  That is why Telangana Tourism Conclave 2018 is conceptualized informed Hari Kishan Valmiki, Chairman Telangana Tourism Conclave and Gowra Srinivas President of FTAPCCi. To achieve this we need to promote the state the way other states are doing.  States like Kerala has a Signature Road Show like Kerala Travel Mart; West Bengal—West Bengal Mart; Gujarat—Great India Travel Bazar. We want to make Telangana Tourism Conclave as our Signature Road Show, informed Hari Kishan Valmiki.  Currently, FTAPCCi wants to take Telangana Tourism Conclave to Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Kolkata, Kochi, and Pune, added Valmiki. The two day B 2 B organized as part of the Tourism Conclave is unique because everything happens there around an APP called Global Panorama Showcase(GPS), the one-stop shop APP for the Tourism and Travel Industry.  The registration is done on the App. That’s it.  There is no visiting card required. Nor the exhibitors need to give any printed brochures.  The exhibitor and the visitor can access each other’s profile, project, contact details, etc on the APP itself. It is a paperless method of B2B meets.  It saves money, and precious paper informed Harmandeep Anand, MD of Global Panorama Showcase and Hari Kishan Valmiki, Chairman of Telangana Tourism Conclave and Gowra Srinivas, President of FTAPCCI

According to Kari Kishan Valmiki and Gowra Srinivas, 50,000 business meets are expected to happen in two days. About 100 exhibitors are expected to showcase their properties, tourism services and 500 plus tourism products.  All these happen without exchanging any piece of paper, visiting card or brochure.

Telangana Tourism Conclave 2018 is organized by FTAPCCI, in association with Telangana Tourism, Govt of Telangana and Global Panorama Showcase.

Tourism professionals from six countries, various cities from across India and 100 companies, are taking part in the unique B 2 B meet.  Some of the companies participating in the B 2 B meet include local companies such Ramoji Film City, Telangana Tourism Board, AP Tourism, Dream Valley, Airlines like True Jet, India Go, Oman Air, Air Arabia, Latam Airlines; Tourism Boards like Holland, Philippines, Mauritius Tourism, etc.

Others include Interglobe Technology—the ultimate travel technology;—India’s first digital remittance management portal; Amigo Travels that integrates with Rail Europe; TBO DMC—the global destination management company, Cruise Operators, NIMA—Network of Indian MICE Agents and others.

Many tourism professionals felt that Telangana should announce a Tourism policy of its own if they want to develop the tourism sector. Because it is a very good revenue grasser as well as an employment generator. Many states in India have their Tourism policies.

There is no single window assistance to tourists for seamless travel by road, rail, and air, they observed.

Similarly, Telangana does not have Tourism Police.  We have separate police for traffic, crime, civil, fire, jails. However, why not Tourism Police.  Goa, Maharashtra have Tourism Police, who job is to protect tourists. So that even a lone foreign woman can visit our state, felt some tourism operators and agents.

Similarly family should also have travel consultant, the way there are a family doctor and lawyer, they observed.

The three day Telangana Tourism Conclave 2018 has got an overwhelming response. About 1150 visitors registered to take part in the event.
