Saint-Gobain India reiterates its commitment towards a greener environment .
Bengaluru, December 18, 2017: Saint-Gobain India Private Limited, the glass major has reaffirmed its commitment to the social well-being and greener environment by leading an initiative to plant 500+ saplings at the Turahalli reserved forest area in Bengaluru. This activity was undertaken in collaboration with the forest department, Government of Karnataka under the aegis of Ms.Dipika Bajpai, IFSA; host of architects and designers from more than 15+ leading firms of Karnataka front-ended this green initiative which was held on the sidelines of Saint-Gobain’s annual SG GlassCup, a cricket tournament for architects and interiors designers that aims at spreading the message of ‘Well-being at Living places’ through fitness and sports. This year’s tournament - the largest for the fraternity saw participation from 17 architecture and design firms.
Commenting on thisgreen initiative, Mr. Santhanam,President- Flat Glass South Asia, Egypt and Malaysia and MD, Saint-GobainIndia, said, “We at Saint-Gobain India, strongly believe in givingback to the society enabling a greener and eco-friendly tomorrow. Withplanting these saplings, we are looking at creating a positive impact andconsequently help in protecting the forests. It is but apt to involveArchitects and Designers in this noble initiative who are always at theforefront of designing sustainable cities and habitats of tomorrow. Wethank the IFSA in giving us this opportunity. We, also, equally appreciate thesupport from the host of architects and designers who joined us in this drive.”Limiting environmental impacts is one of the CSR objectives undertaken bySaint-Gobain India, that constantly ensures partnering efforts designed tocombat climate change, preserve natural resources and/or reduce waste andatmospheric emissions.
