Ten days events to mark Ramanuja Sahasra Sambrama
Bengaluru, April 21, 2017: The city of Bengaluru and Tondanur in Mandya will come alive with Sri Yadugiri Yathiraja Matha scheduling various religious and cultural events over the next two weeks. The events are being held to commemorate 1000th years of religious guru Jagadguru Sri Ramanujacharya (1017-1137). Acharya Sri Ramanuja is a great philosopher and social reformer of 11th century. He created a history by admitting the so called down trodden of the society to the temples.
In Bengaluru,the celebrations will begin on Saturday, April 22, 2017, with the PanchamruthaAbhishekam to Sri Ramanujacharya along with Sri Srinivasaswamy MantappadiUtsav. Various events including religious processions, decorations and culturalprogrammes will go on till May 1, 2017 in Bangalore when the SahasramanotsavaTirunakshatra will be held.
On April 25th, the action will shift to Tondanur in Pandavapuraof Mandya district, wherein the highest statue of Sri Ramanujacharya for thestate will be unveiled.
At thePalace Grounds on Sunday, May 14, 2017, a valedictory event of the RamanujaSahasra Sambrama will be held. Dignitaries and VIPs from different parts of thestate and the country will participate in the event on that day.
Sri SriYathiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeer Swami, present and 41st pontiff of the SriYadugiri Yathiraja Matham said that during the year 2017, which is theMillennium year of Sri Ramanuja, Sri Matham will also be holding variouswelfare activities.
