The AkshayaPatra Foundation Bags National Award for Child Welfare 2017

Mumbai, November 16th 2017: The President of India, Shri Ram NathKovind conferred The AkshayaPatra Foundation, with the National Child Awards for Child Welfare 2017 on the occasion of Children’s Day at RashtrapatiBhavan, New Delhi. The award was received by Shri ChanchalapathiDasa, Vice-Chairman, TheAkshayaPatra Foundation. The awards were given in the presence of Minister of State for Women & Child Development, Dr Virendra Kumar.

On receiving the award,S hri Chanchalapathi Dasa said, “Itis a matter of honour for The Akshaya Patra Foundation to be bestowed upon theNational Award for Child Welfare by the Hon’ble President of India, Shri RamNathKovind. I sincerely thank everyone for the award and for recognising AkshayaPatra as an organisation that has undertaken initiatives to alleviate concernsof hunger among school children while responding effectively to their socialneeds for a better future.”

The National Child Awards for Child Welfare 2017 are givento celebrate the exceptional achievements of children; as well as toindividuals and institutions who work for child welfare and for theiroutstanding contribution in the field of child development and welfare. Theawards were instituted with a view to recognize such voluntary action. Theaward carries a cash prize of INR Three Lakh and a citation for eachinstitution
