Ultimate Sun Systems expands into Himachal Pradesh

New Delhi, 14th February, 2018: Underlining its commitment to drive the adoption of renewable energy systems and increase production capacity, Ultimate Sun Systems, an MNRE Channel Partner company and a pioneer in the field of renewable energy solutions, has installed and commissioned a 300 kW grid-tied rooftop Solar PV system at the MM Medical College & Hospital in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The installation is expected to generate 369,000 kWh of electricity every year and significantly bring down the institute’s carbon footprint.

The 1,131 solar panels and 7 inverters installed by UltimateSun Systems at the hospital will lead to a reduction in carbon emissions byaround 7,565 tons and unlock significant savings on electricity bills. Theestimated cost of the project is INR 1.44 crore, of which INR 1.068 crore hasbeen sanctioned as a subsidy from Himachal Pradesh Govt. Energy Development Agency. Theproject was completed in just 20 days, showing great efficiency in installationand showcasing Ultimate Sun System’s remarkable engineering skill. This is thecompany’s first project in Himachal Pradesh, where through HIMURJA, educationalinstitutions can avail a subsidy of up to 70% of the project cost for solarinstallations.

Speaking on the achievement, Mr. B.S. Yadav,Managing Director, Ultimate Sun Systems, said, “It is indeedheartening that a major hospital such as MM Medical College is cutting down itsdependence on conventional resources by opting for renewable energy. Therooftop solar PV plant installed at the hospital will be equivalent of plantingmore than 12,000 teak trees and will significantly reduce carbon emissions inthe atmosphere. We appreciate the management’s effort to have a solar powergeneration unit and use the roof space to the fullest extent to produce energyin an efficient manner.”

Spokesperson Dr. Tarsem Garg, Chairman, MMU, commented,“As a hospital, we constantly require large amounts of electricity to powermedical equipment all over the campus. Most of this energy requirement waspreviously met through diesel generators. Switching to clean solar power willnot only be cost-effective but will also help us make a positive contributiontowards saving the environment. We are thankful for the complete end-to-endsolutions offered by Ultimate Sun Systems, which have allowed us to make use ofits eco-friendly technology and reduce our carbon footprint.”
