Winners of India Pastry Cup 2017 to represent India in “Asia Pastry Cup”
Gurgaon, March 2018: Chef Mukesh Singh Rawat and Chef Alisha Faleiro, winners of India Pastry cup 2017, will be representing team India this year with coach, Chef Niklesh Sharma in “The Asia Pastry Cup”. This event is to be held at the Singapore Expo- Food and Hotels Asia, on the 24th and 25th of April, 2018 and is associated with the “Club Coupe De Monde” and is also the official selective platform for Asia to the “World Pastry Cup”.
Chef Mukeshhas been the captain of team India in 2016 and won bronze medal for India. Hewas also adjudged as Asia’s Most Promising talent. He was also the team captain at the World PastryCup in 2017, held at Lyon, France. Chef Alisha won the Callebaut Patissier ofthe Year Award, India for the year 2017. Chef Niklesh Sharma is the founder ofAcademy of Pastry Arts Group and manages operations of all its centers acrossIndia, Malaysia, Philippines as well as the upcoming projects in Singapore andIndonesia.
Thecompetition is an eight hour rigorous contest in which a team of two PastryChefs have to create a Sugar Show Piece, Chocolate showpiece, one plated dessert(18 portions) and one chocolate cake (3 portions). The competition will be liveand all products will have to be made from scratch at the venue itself, withinthe given timeframe. The top three teams get a direct entry into the WorldPastry Cup along with two wild card entries, making it a total of five AsianCountries.
