Bengaluru, April 3rd , 2025 – Over 700 aspiring engineers from India’s leading institutions converged at REVA University for EFx India 2025, a three-day innovation festival hosted by ASME Foundation India, the philanthropic arm of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Held from March 27-29, the event showcased the nation’s burgeoning engineering talent through high-stakes competitions and invaluable industry insights.
Ms. Maria Cardwell, Executive Director & Chief Engineer, Boeing India, graced the event as Chief Guest, emphasizing the crucial role of Indian engineers in shaping the future. “The pressure to innovate is immense, demanding resilience and collaborative problem-solving. Initiatives like EFx, supported by ASME and Boeing, provide a vital platform for young engineers to navigate the complexities of real-world challenges,” she stated.
Empowering Future Engineers Through Experiential Learning
EFx India, a flagship student engagement initiative by ASME, has impacted over 10,000 participants from 400 institutes across 20 cities in its seven-year history. This year’s edition transcended traditional competitions, offering expert-led masterclasses on cutting-edge topics such as biomimicry, GD&T in manufacturing, welding and NDE applications, remote imaging for material assessment, and sustainable engineering.
Mr. Madhukar Sharma, President, ASME India Pvt Ltd., highlighted the event’s focus on practical application. “EFx India is a catalyst for experiential learning, fostering resilience and collaboration. Students learn by doing, innovating, and overcoming real-world constraints,” he said.
Dr. P. Shyama Raju, Founder and Chancellor, REVA University, stressed the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets. “We aim to empower students to become job providers.
