Bengaluru, June 8, 2025 – Atria Renewable, a leader in clean energy with over 500 MW of projects launched a new community-centric rooftop solar campaign in Bengaluru. This initiative aims to accelerate the city’s transition to solar by creating “micro-clusters” of solar adopters, offering group-based installations for cost efficiency, and facilitating same-day installations under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
Driven by the theme “Bangalore Deserves Better,” the campaign targets homeowners and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs). Atria, established in 1960 and a pioneer in private hydro power generation, has dedicated over two decades to sustainable energy solutions.
The core of the campaign is to leverage existing community networks like neighbors, RWAs, and friends to maximize solar adoption. This approach not only makes solar more affordable through group installations but also empowers communities to collectively combat climate change while benefiting from government subsidies up to ₹78,000 under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
C.S. Sunder Raju, Chairman and Director of the Atria Group, emphasized, “This campaign is about creating a collective movement that makes solar energy more accessible and affordable through shared adoption models. We hope Bengaluru embraces this initiative and leads the way in community-led solar adoption.”
India’s rooftop solar capacity is projected to grow significantly, from 17.6 GW in 2025 to 41.52 GW by 2030 (18.73% CAGR), highlighting a vast opportunity for residential solar expansion.
