The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce inaugurated the incubation centre to establish a platform to support & nurture innovative entrepreneurs

Bengaluru, 7th February, 2022: The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) inaugurated the BCIC Start-up Incubation centre today at the BCIC Office, Bengaluru. The startup incubation centre was built with the objective to promote entrepreneurship in the state and the center. It was inaugurated by Dr. Ashwath Narayan, Honourable Minister for Higher Education, IT, BT, ST & Skill, Government of Karnataka and the event was graced by Her Excellency Ms. Sugita Akiko, Consul General of Japan at the Bengaluru office.

The incubation center is a support center for startups to receive adequate mentoring and establish industry connections and networks to build themselves and set their feet in the industry. BCIC along with the incubation center also released the Economic Times Booklet with The Economic Times publication which briefly describes the initiatives taken up by the Chamber in all aspects of its work to promote and nurture entrepreneurial thinking and promote business knowledge across the country.

Supporting the event, Mr K R Sekar, President, BCIC, says, ‘The incubation centre will fuel the startup culture in India’s silicon valley. This start-up incubation centre will encourage young entrepreneurs, innovators, incubators, funding entities to serve a bigger purpose. Startup ecosystem has been a pivotal part of direct and indirect jobs, and it is essential that there are proper trainings, research facilities to nurture the startup ecosystem in the country. To facilitate entrepreneurs to connect for sharing ideas, knowledge, experience and facilities for the development of new products and services.’

Encouraging this initiative, Honourable Minister, Dr. Ashwath Narayan said‘The increase in the number of registered startups does not signify anything. It is the need of the hour to provide proper guidance to the budding start-up and young entrepreneurs to take the start-up ecosystem to the next level. Measures like the ‘start-up Incubation centre by BCIC’ which ensures proper direction through mentoring, networking, investing in sustainability, growth, etc is exactly what is putting Bengaluru, the innovation gateway of India far ahead of its closest competitors. The lack of support increases the risk of failure and it is necessary to aid guidance to boost the nation’s economic growth.’

This incubation centre in Bangalore is the starting point for the growth of the start-ups in the state, with the support of more and more innovative entrepreneurs and organisations, BCIC aims at spreading its horizon and set-up incubation centers in Mysuru and Dharwad. This incubation center is a collaborative program designed to help new startups succeed and help entrepreneurs solve some of the problems commonly associated with running a startup by providing workspace, seed funding, mentoring, and training. The sole purpose of this startup incubator launched by BCIC today, is to help entrepreneurs grow & nurture their business while creating and further accelerating the startup ecosystem in the country.
