Bengaluru, 9th April: On Friday 16 schools were terrorized, when they received threatening emails that there were explosives planted on their school premises. The email also stated that it would explode killing hundreds of people.
The school management informed the Police department, following which an extensive search with the help of bomb squad and sniffer dog was conducted is these school premises. After the search police declared all the emails a hoax. The email had the same text but was sent from different mail IDs. According to the investigating team, the emails were received between 10:30 am to 3 pm by the schools.
Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai said it is a conspiracy to disturb the peace and taint the image of the state. Many people in social media are stating this is an aftermath of communal tension in the state.
