Bengaluru, 25 May: A KSRTC bus conductor is booked for allegedly assaulting a female passenger. The incident took place at 4:30 am on Tuesday near the Dasarahalli bus stand. The accused, Ravi Kumar, was arrested by the police.
The victim was travelling from Koppa with her two children when this incident occurred. While alighting the bus, she took some time, which broke out an argument between the two. Reportedly, he slapped her after the heated argument and kicked her multiple times. Reportedly, she started bleeding and called the police control room. Ravi Kumar has been charged with IPC section 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with the intent to offend her modesty).
Kumar was the conductor of a non-AC sleeper bus plying from Sringeri to Bengaluru.
After the incident, KSRTC suspended the accused and released a statement stating, “KSRTC deeply regrets the incident. KSRTC ‘s senior officials met and spoke to the victim and apologised. The safety of our female passengers is our top priority.
