Bengaluru 26th August 2021: Cadets from the National Service scheme (NSS) and the Rotaract Club, CMR Institute of Technology organized an event called BOW-WOW on the occasion of International Dogs Day on 26th August 2021. Students took the lead to feed stray dogs in nearby localities like AECS Layout, Kundalahalli, Chinappanahalli and BEML Layout.

Around 40 students joined hands to feed the dogs and contributed money from their pockets to feed more than 60 dogs.  Mr Nitik Tiwari, President of Rotaract Club CMRIT stated that the main motto of the event was to save the street dogs as they weren’t getting enough food in the present covid situation. The event has sensitized budding engineers to inculcate social values and develop an affinity towards animals. “We wish to conduct more events to educate children on animal care and animal rights,” says Pooja, a 1st year Student.

Dr. Sanjay Jain, Principal CMRIT appreciated students for the initiative.
