12th October 2021. The “New Digital Learning Management System” is inaugurated by Dr. K. Sudhakar, Hon’ble Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister.

Government is considering opening of 50 Bedded small Cardiac Care Unit in all District Medical Colleges.

During his address, Hon’ble Health Minister said that today Cardiac disease is no more a disease of elderly people, it is also affecting the younger generation due to Life style, food habits and stress.  He praised Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research is working like any other five star corporate hospital providing cardiac services to all cross sections of the Society with all advanced facilities, faculties and supporting staff.  He also said that with the support of Telemedicine programme, the patients are treated within a short span of time without any delay.  At present, the Government has taken a decision to open small Cardiac Care Unit in all District Hospital and Medical Colleges for the benefit of poor and needy cardiac patients, wherein Jayadeva Hospital will provide the necessary required advice and training for the said program, but it will be managed by respective medical colleges.  He also said using Technology, we can monitor the treatment of critical patients.  He informed that only the revenue division from Jayadeva Hospital is left out is Hubli and Belgaum, so it is needed to have Jayadeva Branch at Hubli which can cater to the surrounding six districts.

According to Dr.C.N.Manjunath, Director of the Institute, “Digital Learning Management System” is a New System which is being installed at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bengaluru will function like a “Digital Library”.  He expressed that normally in hospitals particularly for Post Graduate Students in Clinical Branches / Medicine and Surgery, when they are busy in their own work, working in ICCU’s and Operation Theatres, many of them are not able to attend classes physically.  With this New System, the Post Graduates who have not attended the Case Discussion and Seminars  can  always  login  to  this platform  even  after their work is completed, at their convenient time.  They can study and get information about the particular topic or case discussion anytime and this will be very useful to update the Academic happenings in the Institute or outside. Going Digital is a step towards progressive Indian Education system for implementing Quality but the basic learning things continues to be the key factor.
